From the first day we opened our doors, we have made it part of our corporate culture to be active in the community. Our focus on giving back and extending a helping had to those in need is part of what makes us who we are.
Some of our favorite projects:
Vineyard Church—TMI saved the church 30% on their utility bill and helped them get a $5K rebate from Duke energy. TMI is currently partnering with the Vineyard Community Church in an effort to supply solar power to homes, churches, and schools in the Navajo Nation in Arizona, where more than 50% of all homes do not have electric utilities.
Habitat for Humanity—TMI donated the whole electrical installation recently for one family. The company and employees contributed land, houses for renovation, time, and materials on numerous projects.
Extreme Home Makeover—TMI coordinated the electrical installation for Greg and Ginger Akers’ West Chester, Ohio home. TMI participated with other local contractors to install all the electrical services and equipment that allowed Chris Akers (who suffers from Crohn’s disease) and his two sisters (who have Spinal Muscular Atrophy) to have a home suitable for their needs.
Help Here, Help There Program—At TMI, it has always been—and continues to be—important for to us to give back. We assist local groups and global relief organizations in the important work they do. Many of our team members coach soccer and baseball teams, serve as scout leaders, teach Sunday school, or mentor young adults. Several employees are volunteer fire fighters and EMTs. The list goes on, as does our service to the community.
