Solar, Power, and Light wanted to partner with Ansonia Schools to allow the school system to purchase power at a reduced rate—and have a positive impact on the environment.
Ansonia Schools had an opportunity to partner with Solar, Power, and Light to reduce their annual electric expenditure by installing solar panels. TMI was invited to facilitate the project and ensure quality installations—and complete the entire project in only 45 days.
TMI evaluated the site, engineered the design, obtained permitting, and installed 1,958 photovoltaic modules on 13 roofs. Solar, Power, and Light was able to receive a $500,000 federal tax cash grant. The arrays at the school now generate over 600Mwh of electricity annually.
Ansonia Schools will save more than $1 million over 15 years with no out of pocket expenses—and teach students valuable lessons about environmental stewardship.
