House Bill 264 allows school districts to make energy efficiency improvement to their facilities and use the substantial cost savings to cover the cost of those improvements. In addition, the bill allows school districts to borrow funds without going through a ballot issue.
Having access to this limited borrowing authority allows school districts to save millions of dollars in both utility and operating costs while teaching students about the importance of being savvy environmental stewards. More importantly, these improvements can be made without cost to taxpayers.
Over 500 school districts in Ohio have taken advantage of the program. TMI is proud to be an expert in how to appropriately secure funding for this program (in addition to having the expertise to design and install the projects).
